The Villains of the Tribulation: Satan, the Antichrist, and the False Prophet (Revelation 12–13)

Jan 30, 2026    Jason Duff

In Revelation chapter 12 and Revelation chapter 13, we meet the three villains of the Tribulation period: Satan, the Antichrist, and the False Prophet—an “unholy trinity” that counterfeits the work of God.

In Revelation chapter 12, we trace Satan’s history, strategy, and destiny, and we see God’s protection over Israel even in the midst of intense spiritual warfare. Then in Revelation chapter 13, we examine the rise of the Antichrist and the False Prophet—their power, deception, blasphemy, persecution, and the coming global pressure to conform.

Key themes include:

- Satan’s rebellion and the spiritual conflict behind human history

- God’s faithfulness to Israel and the reliability of God’s promises

- The Antichrist’s rise, counterfeit “resurrection,” and worldwide influence

- The False Prophet’s signs, the image of the beast, and the mark

- How believers overcome: by the blood of the Lamb and faithful testimony

Scripture focus: Revelation chapter 12; Revelation chapter 13 (with key supporting references discussed in the teaching).
